Join our middle school sculling program!
New for the 2009 – 2010 year, Oakland Strokes is running a program just for middle schoolers! Our middle school program will focus on Sculling—rowing with two oars each. We have room for just 20 kids, and practice is limited to two afternoons per week.
The athletes will row in coxed quads and learn valuable skills such as teamwork, conditioning and safety on the water. The middle school program will be coached by experienced high level coaches, who will make learning fun and give them a unique skill.
The program is broken down into four sessions: two in the Fall and two in the Spring. Each sessions lasts 5 weeks. The end of each session will be marked with a Final Fun Day, where athletes will race and enjoy a potluck awards ceremony, much like our popular Summer camp!
If you know a middle school boy or girl who would enjoy spend a couple days a week out on the water, make sure they register before the 20 spots fill up!
Each session is 5 weeks long and costs $300.00.
IMPORTANT! Once you’ve registered and reserved your spot online, you’ll need to download and complete our Middle School Registration Forms Packet. Forms must be turned in before the first day of the session you wish to attend!
