The Oakland Strokes will be racing the Marin Rowing Association, Berkeley High School, and San Ignatius College Prep at the Battle of the Bay Regatta. This year we will be racing on the San Leandro Bay race course on the Oakland Estuary. This is a new racecourse for the event, please see the attached map.
Parking
Parking at the Tidewater Aquatic Center is very limited. Only the team trailers and tow vehicles will be allowed to go down the driveway to the parking lot at Tidewater AC. All other vehicles must find parking elsewhere. No Exceptions!
Athletes must be dropped off at the end of the Tidewater AC driveway and they can walk into the boathouse area. There is a sidewalk along the north edge of the driveway for the athletes to walk on.
Please consider the following options for parking:
- EBRPD parking lots near the Finish Line – The Finish Line is located along the Bay Trail in the Martin Luther King Regional Shoreline near Edgewater Drive in Oakland. There is almost no street parking available in that area; however, there are several EBRPD parking lots along the Bay Trail. We recommend using the Arrowhead Marsh parking lot; entrance is on Swan Way near Doolittle Drive. Drive all the way to the end of the access road; the large parking lot is about ½ mile walk along the Bay Trail from the Finish Line. Please obey all posted parking instructions. The Oakland Strokes are not responsible for any tickets incurred while parking for this event.
- Parking near Tidewater AC and walk/bike to the Finish Line – There is very limited street parking near Tidewater AC and much of it is closed due to street sweeping on Sundays. Please be careful. There is some street parking over the High Street Bridge in Alameda. Once you are at the Tidewater AC it is about a 2 mile walk or bike ride along the Bay Trail to the Finish Line area. Please obey all posted parking instructions. The Oakland Strokes are not responsible for any tickets incurred while parking for this event.
Do NOT park in the ABF trucking parking lot just to the North of Tidewater AC. Cars in that lot may be towed away at their owner’s expense.
